The base Sierra comes with LED headlights, LED taillights, rear corner steps, and lights in the cargo bed. The SLE adds 17-inch silver alloy wheels, an automatic locking differential, tinted rear windows, and the MultiPro configurable tailgate. Step up to the Elevation for 20-inch wheels, LED fog lights, and a remote locking tailgate. The SLT has 20-inch wheels, heated and power-folding side mirrors, chrome exterior trim elements, and 18-inch wheels, and the off-road-ready AT4 comes with all-terrain tires, skid plates, recovery hooks, and an upgraded off-road suspension. The top-level Denali has upscale features such as side steps, a power-sliding rear window, and MultiPro power steps.

The base engine for the Sierra 1500 is a 4.3-liter V-6 gas engine that puts out 285 horsepower. A 5.3-liter V-8 is available with 355 horsepower, and you can also opt for a 6.2-liter V-8 that generates 420 horsepower. A turbodiesel six-cylinder is another powertrain for the Sierra. It gets 277 horsepower.

The most fuel-efficient engine for the Sierra 1500 is the turbodiesel. If you need to head over rough terrain, the AT4 has the equipment you need, and if you need to tow, it can handle up to 11,800 pounds when equipped with the tow package. This truck can also haul 2,250 pounds in the bed.

There's room for three people in the regular cab, and the Double and Crew Cab have seating for up to six. The base Sierra comes with just the basics, but the SLE has a power-adjustable driver's seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and heated front seats. The SLT adds leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel, and bumping up to the Denali gets you premium materials in the cabin, ventilated front seats, and Denali badging.

Technology features include a 7-inch infotainment screen, Android Auto, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, a six-speaker stereo system, and a USB port in the base. Moving up through the trims adds a Wi-Fi hot spot, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and wireless charging. The SLT and up offer the ProGrade Trailering System with a tailgate-mounted light, a trailering app, and Hitch Guidance with a Hitch View rear camera.

Every Sierra 1500 comes standard with the Teen Driver system and a rearview camera. The available Driver Alert I package adds a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert and parking sensors. Add the Driver Alert II Package for adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, a forward-collision warning system, and lane departure warning. There's also a Technology Package available with a rear camera mirror, a head-up display, and a surround-view camera with a top-down view all around the truck.
